House Attendant

The House Attendant is responsible for assisting Room Attendants on the heavy lifting of the guest room and/or suite cleaning services, and delivering and retrieving items requested to ensure complete guest satisfaction.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Practice OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) standards and comply with all company safety policies and procedures
• Assist Room Attendants with heavy items such as mattresses and linens (i.e. stripping linens from mattresses)
• Remove all dirty linens from assigned Room Attendants’ carts and closet to transport to laundry area throughout the day
• Deliver fresh linens and other cart supplies to Room Attendants throughout the day
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of floor closets and vending areas: remove the trash, wipe down shelves/counters; sweep and wax the floor, remove non-floor closet items and store in appropriate areas
• Respond to guests’ requests such as the delivery of housekeeping supplies (i.e. linens, cots, etc.) in a timely and efficient manner
• Clean other areas such as public restrooms, fixtures, vending areas, storage areas and other public areas for assigned floors
• Report to supervisor needed repairs or unsafe conditions
• Respond to guest complaints and ensure corrective action is taken to achieve complete guest satisfaction
• Monitor and control supplies and amenities, and minimize waste within all areas of housekeeping
• Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other departments
• May collect newspaper and other items for recycling
• May regularly assist with deep cleaning projects and/or meeting setups and takedowns as needed
• Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

• Basic written and verbal communication skills
• May be required to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays

Preferred Qualifications:

• Some housekeeping experience in a hotel environment
• Bilingual (English/Spanish)

Physical Requirements:

• Frequently handling objects and equipment to maintain the facility
• Frequently working in areas of high temperatures around heavy equipment
• Ability to carry, push, move and lift large, bulky and/or heavy objects up to 50 pounds and pulling items up to 100 pounds
• Ability to perform tasks that may require prolonged standing, walking, repetitive bending, and other physical activities

Job Type: Full- Time

Pay: $22.50 per hour
