Job Summary:
The financial analyst is primarily responsible for budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis and financial reporting of our hotel portfolio to assist the executive team with cost control and profitability.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Practice OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) standards and comply with all company safety policies and procedures
Create budgets, forecasts, and cash flow models to guide operations
Monitor departmental profitability across all revenue streams, including rooms, food and beverage, events and other services
Analyze pricing strategies, market demand, and competitor data to support revenue management strategies
Collaborate with department heads to improve cost control and overall financial performance
Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including P&L statements, variance analyses and KPI dashboards
Conduct financial modeling for new projects, renovations, or service expansions
Provide financial insights to support strategic decision-making and optimize financial outcomes.
Work closely with operations on cost controls, inventory, payroll, and other expense management areas
Perform other duties as assigned, revenue and asset valuation.
Minimum Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Hospitality or a related field
2-3 years of experience in financial analysis in the hospitality industry
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced functions, pivot tables, etc.) and financial modeling tools
Familiarity with financial software systems (NetSuite or hospitality specific PMS Systems)
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Degree in Finance with a focus on hospitality.
Professional certifications such as CFA
3+ years of work experience in hospitality finance
Experience with a budgeting and forecasting tool (Fairmas) preferred
Proficiency in property management systems (Opera Cloud) preferred
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Occasional travel between hotel properties or corporate offices may be required
Ability to lift up to 15 pounds
Consistent hand and wrist movements using keyboards to generate correspondence, reports, etc.
